Understanding Custom Blow Molding
Bringing designs and products into reality.
What is Custom Blow Molding?
Custom blow molding is a versatile manufacturing process used to create hollow plastic parts of various shapes and sizes. From bottles and containers to automotive components and industrial parts, blow molding offers unparalleled flexibility and efficiency in producing a wide range of products.

The Basic Steps of Blow Molding:
Custom Blow Molding Manufacturers in the United States
- Melting Plastic: The process begins with melting plastic resin pellets to form a viscous molten material ready for molding.
- Forming the Parison: The molten plastic is then formed into a parison, a hollow tube with a controlled wall thickness.
- Sealing the Parison: The parison is sealed, leaving one area open for the introduction of blowing air.
- Inflating the Parison: Blowing air is introduced into the parison, causing it to expand and conform to the shape of the mold cavity.
- Cooling the Molded Part: Once the parison has been inflated to the desired shape, it is cooled to solidify the plastic and maintain its form.
- Ejecting the Part: The finished blow-molded part is ejected from the mold cavity, and ready for further processing or assembly.
- Trimming Excess Flash: In some cases, excess flash may form around the edges of the molded part during the blowing process. This excess material is trimmed off to achieve the final desired shape. Excess flash is then ground up and reused in future parts in our recycle plastic process.
